April Jane grew up homeschooled in Bellingham, WA, where she fell in love with self-directed learning, dance, theatre and choral music. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre from the University of Utah, and upon her graduation she returned to her hometown to teach ballet, modern dance, musical theatre, and fitness classes at Dancing For Joy. She loved teaching there so much, in fact, that she decided to get her Masters in Teaching from Western Washington University (WWU) to pursue teaching full-time. After graduating and receiving her teaching certificate, April Jane joined WWU's adjunct faculty as a theatre education instructor. She went on to teach theatre at Mount Si High School, then PE/dance at Timberline Middle School. April Jane also enjoys Bikram yoga, fusion social dancing, gardening, specialty coffee, thrifting, hiking with her two miniature poodles, reading with her husband, Jesten, and all things nerdy.
