Katelyn Lodell

Teacher/Choreographer

Katelyn Lodell is an alumni of Island Dance and Whidbey Island Dance Theatre. In addition to her education at Island Dance, she attended summer dance intensives with American Ballet Theatre, Boston Ballet, and International Youth Ballet.

After graduating from SWHS, she continued her dance education at the University of Arizona’s School of Dance on academic scholarship. There, she studied ballet, modern, and jazz under their prestigious staff who's program was ranked top 5 in the nation. She performed in several productions with their Dance Ensemble, and danced selective roles in George Balanchine’s Serenade, Swan Lake, and several other original works. 

 

After graduating suma cum laude in 2009 with a Bachelors of Fine Arts, Katelyn returned to the northwest where she danced professionally with DASS dance under the artistic direction of Daniel Wilkins. She also performed 2 seasons with with 3rd Shift Dance in Seattle, and returned to WIDT as a guest artist in the Nutcracker. 

 

She is the Assistant Artistic Director for WIDT and a resident choreographer. She thoroughly enjoys bringing her passion and experience back to her home studio to develop a new generation of pre- professional dancers. Katelyn is also a STOTT Certified Pilates Instructor and Certified Integrative Nutrition Health Coach.
