Christine Monaghan

Teacher/Choreographer

Christine has been dancing since the age of eleven. She is trained in a wide variety of styles including jazz, hip hop, tumbling, tap, ballet and modern.  At age thirteen, she began attending competitions and conventions.  During this time she won two scholarships: one to attend the Encore Nationals in Las Vegas and another to attend LA Elite competition/convention for free the following year.  At age nineteen, she joined Whidbey Island Dance Theatre and danced with them, as a company member and alumni, for the next eleven years.  

 

In June 2015, Christine was elected as one of the co-assistant artistic director of Whidbey Island Dance Theatre.  A position she held for one year.  Christine has been teaching pre-dance levels since she was 16 years old; Ballet 1 since 2013; and Ballet 4/5 since 2016.  She loves teaching and investing in each individual dancer’s journey.  

 

Beyond dance, Christine is a CPA who received her Bachelor Degree in Accounting from Central Washington University and works as a full time CPA with Furin & Company, P.S., an accounting firm in Anacortes, WA.
