Originally from Saint Louis, Missouri, Sydney began her training at Jo’s School of Dance under the direction of Jo Phinney. She is prepared to graduate spring 2021 with her Bachelor of Fine
Arts in Dance Performance and Choreography, from the University of Missouri- Kansas City Conservatory.
Sydney has performed works by Kevin Iega Jeff, Cleo Parker Robinson, Michel Folkine, Ronald Tice as well as “A Soldiers Tale” choreography by Gary Abbott and DeeAnna Hiett, performed live by The Conservatory Wind Ensemble conducted by Steve Davis. She also performed with The Wylliams Henry Contemporary Dance Company’s concert “Juncture” in 2019 and “The List” choreography by Christopher Huggins at the Modern Night at the Folly and Open Stage in 2020.
Sydney choreographed Blood Wedding for the UMKC Conservatory’s Theatre department and collaborated and performed in two consecutive Epic Gala fundraisers for single mothers in The Greater Kansas City area. Sydney worked in conjunction with musician Giuseppe Gallo-Balma Estes and performed in a virtual concert, “ Still, We Create” for an Advanced Choreographic Design Project in 2020.
